RLS: Embryonic stem cell research and use
Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that have the ability to divide and create more identical stem cells or be able to specialize and be a specific type of cell. There are 2 areas in which stem cells can be derived, either from the somatic or embryonic cell. Embryonic stem cells can only be adopted from preimplantation embryos or IVF and have the capability to form any type of somatic cells. Moreover, Embryonic stem cell research can offer hope for new therapies but their use and research has sparked debate. The idea of extracting embryonic cells is widely questioned, as some religions believe it is inhumane or wrong, as a potential life is lost. However, by conducting research on the cells, scientists could discover new areas of life and could have the potential to improve our ways of living and save future lives from severe diseases.

The two sides that could be debated is that embryonic stem cells should be extracted in order to be able to find cures for certain diseases and/or cure and heal tissue such as skin tissue is affected by burning. Although the other perspective shows that is the risk of a human life( or something that potentially grow into human life) should be sacrificed just in the name of research. this debate falls under the morality of utilitarianism to show if the life of much more who could be cured of the diseases much more valuable than that of an embryo that could develop into a child. In addition, Religion and faith play a major role in the use of embryonic cells, as they claim that a sacrifice of a life is considered a sin, and this can be viewed and seen in many of their religious claims that are cited from their holy books.
