Advantages and disadvantages of speaking a common langauge
What would be the advantages and disadvantages if everyone in the world spoke a common language? What would be gained and what would be lost?
Language is very important when it comes to communicating with one another and understand each other from different points of view. Furthermore, language is essential when interacting and discussing ideas, perspectives and points of view, thus essential to creating individuality.
The advantages of everyone speaking the same language will be that everyone would be able to communicate in a way that would be easy to understand by everyone moreover, you will be able to interact without the need of translators and interpreters. Furthermore, when looking at people understand the intervention between one country and the other. moreover, English has confirmed a universal lange thus most of our documents, research and findings will be understood worldwide. In addition, we will encounter less racial abuse as well as discrimination.
When speaking the same language there will be many consequences and disadvantages, in my opinion, language differentiation is very important in growing uniqueness and individuality. firstly, part of what builds our personality is culture and heritage and without language this would be lost since they are somewhat defined by the way we speak and communicate with one another in a certain region or country; Culture and heritage also defines our personality and the way we look at the world, thus each individual won’t have different perspectives and points of view, this said ethnicity will also be lost due to disappearance of multicultural society resulting in the loss of differentiation in terms of food, music, religion, and traditions, resulting in the loss of cultural identity; the segregation of these vital things will make us lose our individuality and sense of ‘being different’ as our minds will be connected in interchangeable ways to the point of which every one of us will be “unique less”. The variety of languages and traditions that we acquire allow us to be “colorful” in our own ways.In addition, language opens our minds and allows us to understand and appreciate one another and our ideas whether they be similar or different. Knowledge of our surrounding that people that surround us, thus speaking the same language will leave each of us, as individuals with a closed mind.
In conclusion, although we will be able to understand each other perfectly and illuminate rational discrimination and abuse, culture tradition diversity will all be lost creating a dull society with no differentiation.
